Many website owners, designers, optimizers, and bloggers have heard of and search for DoFollow blogs, DoFollow social bookmarking, DoFollow forums, and DoFollow directories in their link building quests.
Would you be surprised to know that, with all the talk about DoFollow, that it is not a tag in a website’s code? DoFollow is, in fact, a term that represents something that is not present on a link to a specific URL – the “nofollow” tag.
Nofollow is a tag that simply tells search engines not to crawl, or notice, a link on a page. There are several reasons you would want to use a nofollow tag, such as with paid links (which Google frowns upon) or links to major sites that do not need a lot of boost in their link building efforts, like Google itself.
The reason that many people choose to use nofollow for other links on their site is for fear of giving up the prized “link juice” to other sites, possibly lowering their Google Page Rank. And while it is true that some sites are penalized because they have too many links, the real issue is when your site starts to look like a link farm with all links, and no content. Most sites can safely be DoFollow simply by having a balance of content and links.
1. Go to Blogger layout and click Edit HTML.
2. Check Expand Widget Templates.
3. Search for ‘NoFollow.’ You will find at least two of them in the code.
4. Remove rel='nofollow'> from the tag that starts with

100% that's really true we have to move toward the dofollow, if you are afraid of spammers then use alternate software for that.

hmmm yeah really that's not right to move toward the nofollow, i am not getting why people are doing so, it might be because of protection from spammers but you never get rid from doing this.
there are some people who don't want to make their blog dofollow only because of spammers but i think instead of doing this we have to report google for spamming.
what's happening in this era, am so much confused about the google criteria in which pattern they counting the backlinks.....

Thanks for nice blog commenting guidelines. I also have a blog and receive many comments for my posts. I like when people give valuable posts As to the NoFollow and DoFollow blogs, I comment on both. Although NoFollow links are not counted as backlinks (I did a test and verified this by myself), I would not advise anyone to ignore them. NoFollow links can still drive some traffic to the website. I liked your notice that keywords in the name field are allowed. I met it for the first time. Usually one should review other comments to decide if he/she can include keywords.
